About

Hey. I'm Roberts -- a Rust developer based in Latvia. I build blockchain infrastructure at eigerco, where I work on cross-chain interoperability, distributed systems, and whatever else needs doing in large Rust codebases. Think 300k LOC, distributed nodes, and the kind of problems where you .clone() a String and nobody dies.

Before that, I was a web dev who fell into a Rust rabbit hole and never crawled out. It started with "let me try WebAssembly real quick" and ended with me writing game engines, blockchain nodes, and trading bots. God I love this language.

What I work on

At work it's top secret, although it's all open source on my GitHub anyway.

Outside of work -- I build things. A Supabase client in Rust, a high-performance Betfair SDK for sports trading bots, Solidity re-implementations in Rust, whatever scratches the itch. Done is better than perfect.

What this blog is about

This is where I write about things I've built, things I've learned, and things that went wrong along the way. It's not tutorials -- it's stories. How a side project landed me a job. How I mass-manage AI coding sessions across 3 projects. How I had to unsafe my way through WebGL with a smiley face in the comment.

If you're into Rust, blockchain, game dev, AI-assisted development, or just enjoy reading about someone figuring things out in public -- you're in the right place.
